On the morning of July 8, 2025, the School of Electronic Science and Engineering (School of Microelectronics) under the South China Normal University Faculty of Engineering visited Foshan NationStar Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "NationStar Semiconductor") to conduct an Innovation Week exchange activity. The event was attended by Deputy Chief Engineer Chen Kai, Technical Expert Zhou Xin, Postdoctoral Researcher Cao Yiwei, Ph.D. Dong Zexin, and HR Manager Xu Le from NationStar Semiconductor, as well as Wang Xingfu, Director of the Experimental Center and Head of the Integrated Circuit Teaching and Research Section, along with Undergraduate Academic Administrator Chen Xiaoyu and 15 undergraduate students from the School.

During the symposium held in Conference Room 101 of NationStar Semiconductor, Deputy Chief Engineer Chen Kai and HR Manager Xu Le provided a detailed introduction to the company's development history, technological innovations, and industry standing. Subsequently, accompanied by Chen Kai and Dr. Dong Zexin, the faculty and students toured the corporate campus, gaining an in-depth understanding of the production processes and R&D systems for LED epitaxial wafers and chips. During the exchange session, both sides engaged in lively discussions on topics such as LED manufacturing technology, product application scenarios, and the company's standards for interdisciplinary talent. This visit effectively promoted technical exchange and talent alignment between the university and the enterprise.

(SZSE Stock Code: 002449), was established on March 12, 2011, with a registered capital of 820 million RMB. The company specializes in the R&D, production, and sales of high-quality LED epitaxial materials and chips, which are widely used in lighting, display, and backlight applications. As one of the largest LED epitaxial chip manufacturers in Guangdong Province, the company places great emphasis on technological innovation and talent development. It has established several technological innovation platforms, including the Guangdong Provincial LED Epitaxial Chip Engineering Technology R&D Center and the Provincial Enterprise Technology Center. It has also been recognized as a High-Tech Enterprise and a Provincial Intellectual Property Demonstration Enterprise. The company's products have repeatedly been awarded the "Guangdong Province High-Quality High-Tech Product" title, and its related technologies have won first prize in the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award, first prize in the Guangdong Provincial Technology Invention Award, and second prize in the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award. The company has applied for 342 patents, with 261 authorized. After over a decade of development and accumulation, the company was selected as a National "Little Giant" Enterprise in 2023.


This Innovation Week exchange activity provided valuable practical opportunities for our students, allowing them to engage closely with a leading industry player and enriching and inspiring their confidence and determination to deeply explore the field of integrated circuits. In the future, the School will continue to promote deep industry-academia-research integration with enterprises, enhancing collaboration in areas such as research project applications, core technology development, innovative talent cultivation, and the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, thereby jointly advancing the integration of the talent chain, innovation chain, and industrial chain.
