        The School of Electronic Science and Engineering (School of Microelectronics) at South China Normal University is a member of the University’s Faculty of Engineering—a teaching and research entity jointly established by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, the Foshan Municipal People’s Government, the Nanhai District People’s Government, and South China Normal University.

     The school focuses on next-generation electronic information technologies such as chips and integration technology, educational intelligence, brain-inspired chips, and intelligent connected systems. It aims to address cutting-edge international scientific challenges and core key technologies aligned with major national strategic needs, striving to overcome critical bottlenecks in semiconductor materials, devices, chips, and integrated circuits. We vigorously promote interdisciplinary innovation in the field of chip and integration technology, explore novel quantum effects in semiconductor quantum systems, and investigate new principles and methods for regulating semiconductor devices. At the same time, the school emphasizes deep integration with South China Normal University’s traditional strengths in disciplines such as psychology, education, physics, and optical engineering. This interdisciplinary approach drives breakthroughs in basic and applied fundamental research while cultivating high-level specialized talent.

      Rooted in Foshan and serving the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, our goal is to train high-caliber professionals in integrated circuits, electronic information, and new materials, and to produce first-class scientific research outcomes that contribute to regional industrial development and national technological advancement.
