The Faculty of Engineering, South China Normal University covers two major disciplines: science and engineering. It consists of 3 colleges and 1 institute the School of Semiconductor Science and Technology, the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, the School of Artificial Intelligence, and the Beidou Institute. The undergraduate program offers  majors, including Integrated Circuit Design and Integrated System, Electronic Information Engineering, Electronic Information Science and Technology, Communication Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. The master's and doctoral programs cover key disciplines, such as Electronic Science and Technology, Semiconductor Optoelectronic Devices, Electronic Information, Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, etc. It has several-class specialty construction points, including Electronic Science and Technology and Artificial Intelligence, as well as doctoral and master's degree authorization points and postdoctoral research stations.

The Faculty of Engineering, South China Normal University actively implements the school-running orientation of "new engineering, interdisciplinary, internationalization, and research-oriented", closely focusing on the six industries of semiconductor, microelectronics (integrated circuits), communication engineering, artificial intelligence, Beidou high-precision positioning, and hydrogen energy. It carries out talent training, research, discipline construction, transformation of scientific research achievements, and high-level teaching staff team building. It is committed to becoming a special zone for the training of "new engineering talents, a pilot area for institutional and mechanism reform, a pioneer area for the transformation of scientific research achievements, and a demonstration area for industry-university-research cooperation.
